WW2 German U-Boat documents Lieutenant Heinrich Kassens
Rare original documents to a U-Boat trainee and later serving Officer. Consisting of three photographs of Lt Heinrech Kassens in unioform. The first picture looks like it was photographed near the coast. The other two possibly in a park. The first document is a citation showing his training as an Engineer on the advanced course fur U-Boot Officers from 16/081943 to 5/09/43 and 27/9/43 to 6/11/43. He passed the course 6 November 1943. This is signed by the commander of the naval school at Kiel. This was originally the German imperial Naval academy. The second document appears, as well as containing personal details, talks about his general ability as a U-Boot Lieutenant and that he is capable to go On Board a U-Boat for service. This is signed by the leader of the 11 U-Boot training Flotilla, signed by Captain A.S U Boat commander and Leader of training. The final document reproduced in 1948 is his service history from training to serving with 24th U-Boat Flotilla on U1162. Interesting mention of serving on the Prinz Eugen. Documents relating to U-Boot officers rarely turn up, These documents are well worthy of further research
